Some intersting Mustang Community reading about Delk Performance:

The Wiseco piston Build/Spec sheet was requested from Delk Performance and this is what they provided.
Funny how it's Blank.

The Wiseco pistons ordered by Delk Performance with dual intake valve reliefs sized at 1.90 but the valves are 1.94.
And Delk Performance still orders them from Wiseco this way.

The Comp Pro Magnum Rocker arms ordered by Delk Performance.
They were supposed to be the same ones as SuperSix but they were not.
Just another instance of Delk trying to copy someone else's product
without checking or testing it themselves.
I ended up ordering the Correct ones from SuperSix myself to ensure thay were correct.

The Manley 8mm valves ordered by Delk Performance.
They were ordered and installed as intended for their original application
(Not a Ford V6).
Just another instance of Delk trying to copy someone else's product
without checking or testing it themselves.
To correctly use these they must be custom ordered with the correct stem length and locking groove location.

The Custom full length main girdle by Delk Performance.
This was copied directly from the product a friend of mine purchased from a different vendor.
Just another instance of Delk trying to copy someone else's product
without checking or testing it themselves.

The Custom crudely constructed $350.00 guide plates by Delk Performance.
These were just some 5.0 guide plates that were laying around, then cut & welded to fit.

The Custom Ported V6 Upper Intake by Delk Performance.
This was done by their "Penske NASCAR Porter" Notice the AN bungs where the posts were removed.

A little Dyno Data shows a whole 4 RWHP gain

3.8 H/C/I 242 RWHP installed by Delk Performance
Custom Delk Performance 4.2 246 RWHP

Observations after teardown:

  • The pistons are all scuffed up from the piston slap.
  • The pistons had Zero offset.
  • It had some nasty rod knock.
  • The bearings were getting down to copper.
  • The heads were so messed up with the pedestal milling they were un salvageable.
  • The ports on the heads from the lower were much bigger than the gasket.
  • The ports on the lower had the same problem making them un salvageable.
  • The valve stems were too long for proper valve train geometry.
  • The push rods were hitting the heads.
  • Guide plates are pinned in the wrong orientation.
  • Rocker arms were rolling off the valve stem at the top of the cam lift
  • Compression numbers were terrible
  • Cyl-1 118  Cyl-2 123  Cyl-3 116  Cyl-4 123 Cyl-5 127 Cyl-6 125
